Consumer advocate at the local, state and federal levels
Timeshare owners have a group looking out for their best interests both inside the Washington, D.C. beltway and outside - all over the country at the state and local levels - ARDA-ROC.
ARDA Resort Owners' Coalition (ARDA-ROC) is a non-profit program sponsored by the American Resort Development Association, the national trade association for the timeshare industry. It is an alliance of owners, developers and managers throughout the U.S. who are committed to advocating for local, state and federal policies that are beneficial to timeshare owners.
The group is the first line of defense against legislation that may negatively impact timeshare owners and their well-being. Through ARDA-ROC, owners can be part of an effective grassroots lobbying coalition of timeshare unit owners dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing vacation ownership. ARDA-ROC serves as the voice of timeshare owners in Washington, DC and in state capitals across the county.
Timeshare owners voluntarily contribute $3-$10 a year on their annual maintenance and tax assessment. As an ARDA-ROC participating company, Island One Resorts Hospitality Group is committed to consumer-friendly legislation for our owners.
The ARDA-ROC government affairs team has a strong record of successfully advocating on behalf of policies allowing for the vitality of the industry while protecting the vacation ownership experience. ARDA-ROC works with legislators and regulators at all levels of government to educate policy makers and ensure fair treatment across the broad range of issues that impact timeshare owners. ARDA-ROC is working in many states on issues including non-judicial foreclosure, resale issues, "postcard/transfer companies and scams directed at timeshare owners.

- Finding your local, state and federal elected officials by entering your zip code
- Learning about current and past legislative activity in any region or in the federal government
- Reading and responding to legislative alerts they are bringing to your attention
The Political Resource Center is both a means for you to stay informed of the "who's who" and "what's what" in government, as well as ARDA-ROC's means of alerting you to important issues needing your attention and action. It also contains information on navigating the secondary market.
